A little bit about me....
Well, it all started at nightschool. I've always been creative, I like drawing, painting, sketchbooks, I even had a stint making clothes (I have a HND don't you know), but it was definitely the silver that got me.
After spending one summer in the very lovely St Ives (I had an IT job where I worked term time only), surrounded by lots of creativity and beautiful jewellery shops, I came home and applied for a Degree in Applied Arts in Jewellery and Metalwork. I was accepted! In the space of a week, I'd resigned from work, found a part time job and started at Uni, all very exciting. I spent 4 lovely years at North Wales School of Art and enjoyed every minute of it. Half way through I started my business as part of the Professional Practice Modules. Silver Kitsune was born. I chose to have a name for my business because I was still at Uni and it gave me the choice to change it once I'd finished, if I wanted too. Kitsune was suggested by a friend, because it's the japanese word for fox (well, there's a bit more to it than that, a folk tale in fact). That was in 2007. Since then, I have exhibited in some fantastic galleries and prestigious craft fairs. I even went back to nightschool, but this time to teach.
It turned out that I really enjoy teaching and have now opened my own studios in Warrington, strangely enough it's called The Fox Studios. You can see more info over on my other website, as well as some kits for you to make at home, and I'm hoping to add some online content very soon!
Please feel free to drop me a message, whether it's about an idea you have for a piece of jewellery, or teaching, or just to say hello, it would be lovely to hear from you.
